Your ASSIST agreement is the official list of the exact courses your community college offers that count toward your major at the university you want to transfer to. Upload it, and TransferRoute reads it on your device and lays it out cleanly, no digging through PDFs. TransferRoute Premium then checks it against your record and plans your exact classes, semester by semester. Your file is read right on your device and is never uploaded to us.

New to ASSIST? It is the official site, assist.org, that California community colleges and public universities use to show which courses transfer. It costs nothing to use, and you do not need an account.

Find your agreement on ASSIST.org

Go to assist.org. Choose, in order: the academic year, your community college, the university you want to transfer to, and your major. Your personalized agreement opens on the screen.

Save it as a PDF

On the agreement page, use the green Print or download control, then choose Save as PDF. No print button? Use your browser's Print option and pick "Save as PDF" as the printer. Save it somewhere easy to find, like your Downloads folder.

Upload it on TransferRoute

Open your profile builder and go to Step 2, Academic Record. Tap the box that says "Choose your ASSIST PDF," pick the file you just saved, and you are done. We read it and pull in your courses right away.

Choose PDF

On a phone? Here is the exact path

From a phone you save the PDF first, then pick it from your files. It is the same idea, just two stops.

On an iPhone (Safari)
  1. Open assist.org in Safari and build your agreement (year, college, university, major).
  2. Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow), then Save to Files. Pick a spot like "Downloads" or "On My iPhone."
  3. Come back to TransferRoute and go to Step 2. Tap Choose your ASSIST PDF.
  4. Tap Browse, open Files, and pick the PDF you just saved.
On an Android (Chrome)
  1. Open assist.org in Chrome and build your agreement (year, college, university, major).
  2. Tap the menu (three dots, top right), choose Share then Print, and set the printer to Save as PDF. It saves to Downloads or Drive.
  3. Come back to TransferRoute and go to Step 2. Tap Choose your ASSIST PDF.
  4. Pick the PDF from Downloads or your Files app.

Agreements from private or out-of-state schools

ASSIST only covers California public universities. Many private and out-of-state schools publish their own articulation or transfer-credit agreements, and you can upload those here too. We read the saved page on your device and map the courses for you to review.

Where to find them. Search "your target school + transfer credit" or "your target school + articulation" and look for that school's official transfer-credit or articulation office page. A few real examples:

How to save the page. These pages usually have no "save as PDF" button, so save the page itself:

  1. On the agreement page, press Ctrl+S (Windows) or Cmd+S (Mac).
  2. If your browser offers a format, choose "Webpage, HTML Only". It saves one clean file that uploads easily.
  3. If you save "Webpage, Complete" instead, that is fine. Upload the .html file and the uploader ignores the extra assets folder.
  4. Come back here, go to Step 2 in your profile, and upload the saved .html file.
Some pages do not save cleanly. If that happens, use print to PDF instead: press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac), set the printer to Save as PDF, and upload that PDF.

If we cannot read your document, you can build the mapping by hand on your dashboard from your official agreement. It stays accurate because you transcribe it yourself.

If something does not work

Your privacy: the PDF you upload is read entirely inside your own browser. It is never sent to TransferRoute or anyone else. The details are in our privacy policy.
